Honestly, I wonder where to start. Should I start with the stereotypical clothes they chose for the cast, the clingy storyline, or the poor dialogue?

Okay, let me jump to the part that was the BEST

And that's Ranveer Singh

Because there's nothing great in this movie except for Ranveer Singh’s physique. I am not objectifying, BUT, look at the way this man has worked on himself for the movie that has no freshness in its story.

It’s a typical love story. A Punjabi boy falls in love with a Bengali girl and to convince their family they swap their life for 3 months to stay with each other’s families. So cliched, isn't it?

Ranveer is shown as a typical rich Punjabi boy who has no brain, and zero vocabulary but has a Dilli ka Vada Dil who focuses only on gym & protein shakes, enjoys partying, and his larger-than-life lifestyle.

On the other hand, Rani played by Alia Bhat is an ambitious Bengali girl with a progressive family and a mother who is exceptionally good in her English-speaking skills. A father who is a Kathak dancer and is so passionate about Kathak that he does mudras even while walking, speaking, and meeting new people. Who does that?

Well, after typecasting the characters to the core, the costume adds to the limit. To show how progressive Rani’s family is, Rani’s mother is shown wearing a sleeveless blouse. You don’t have to show a person wearing a sleeveless blouse to denote how progressive their thoughts are. So please STOP! And Rocky with this typical Punjabi name is always EXTRA with his clothes, attitude, and accent.

To add the extremely low-quality jokes, Rocky's sister, Gayathri Randhawa aka Golu mispronounces words. For instance, when Ladke Wale comes to see her, she says, orgasm instead of organizing. In 2023, do these kinds of jokes work? Well, let me leave that to the audience to decide.

Dharmender was a good relief to see on screen. But again, the story of him cheating on his wife with another woman (Shabana Azmi) is extremely unacceptable. This film shows a man cheating on his wife who is very much alive and meeting his girlfriend which their grandchildren arrange. Wait, now that's something too much to handle.

Despite Jaya Bachhan being a badass grandmother, wife, and mother-in-law, I feel sad for her to see her husband kissing his lover in front of her. And the sad part is no one understood the pain she went through.

I feel this film might have done great in the 90s and early 2000s but in 2023, it definitely won’t work.

To sum it up, it’s a typical Karan Johar film that has a saree flying, hair blowing, snowfall location, slow motion shots, extra colours, extra drama, unnecessary anger burst out, infidelity, and typecasting characters.
