Yes, the gigantic blockbuster is actually copied. The film was a blockbuster when it was released and even now it is the most loved and watched film. The plot of the film is directly lifted from another most famous story.

The story of revenge, jealously, love, and passion for the throne is inspired by the most talked-about tale from Mahabharat.

Here are some of the striking similarities between the two

1) Amarendra Baahubali and Bhallaladeva are cousins. One is mightier, warm-hearted, and humble while the other is cruel, lacks empathy, and is hungry to be crowned as the King.

In Mahabharat, Pandu was the one who was modest and cared for the people while Dhritarashtra was always starving for the throne.

2) Bhallaladeva’s father was paralyzed and always had this thought in his mind that because of his abnormality he was not announced as the King despite having the strength.

In Mahabharat, Dhritarashtra always thought it was his blindness that stopped declaring him the King. But it was his wrong intention and attitude that made Hastinapur dislike him.

3) Amarendra Baahubali was crowned as the King of Mahishmati and immediately was dethrone. Later Bhallaladeva’s coronation was performed and declared as the new King.

In Mahabharat, Pandu was announced as the King because of this sane thinking and path of rightness he follows. Soon he, along with his wives, was living in exile. Later, Dhritarashtra was crowned the King of Hastinapur.

 4) Bhallaladeva felt inferior in front of Baahubali and tried to kill his own brother.

In Mahabharat, Duryodhana, son of Dhritarashtra tried to kill one of the sons of Pandu and Kunti, Bheem.

5) Bhallaladeva was always accompanied by his father. He was also the reason to ignite evil in the mind of Bhallaladeva from his childhood.

In Mahabharat, Duryodhana was accompanied by this Uncle Shakuni, who lit the fire of wickedness in the minds of Duryodhana and his 99 brothers.

6) In Baahubali, Mahendra Baahubali comes back to Mahishmati, fights with his uncle, and frees the people of Mahishmati and his beloved mother.

While Pandu’s sons came back to Hastinapur and fought with their own brothers and family for the good.

7) The good won and Bhallaladeva was set on the pyre for the sins he had committed for all these years. Finally, Mahishmati celebrated their ideal King after tolerating cruelty for long years.

In Mahabharat, after winning the battle, Yudhisthira was announced as an ideal King of Hastinapur. Finally, the land breathes some fresh air of empathy and righteousness.

So, these were some of the unmissable resemblances between India’s one of the epic fantasy films and India’s most ancient Indian epic story.
